Coffee has a long history, first discovered in Ethiopia in the 8th century. Known as “kahweh” in the Middle East, coffee is widely consumed in Lebanon and is often used to welcome visitors. The coffee is poured in front of the guest from a coffee pot (rakweh) and served in small round cups.
