Tilda Basmati Rice 5kg — The Gold Standard of Indian Rice
If you’ve tried making biryani or pulao with European rice, you already know — it comes out sticky, clumpy, and completely wrong. That’s because true basmati rice is a completely different grain: extra-long, individually separated, aromatic, and fluffy. Tilda is the world’s #1 basmati rice brand, and for good reason.
Every grain of Tilda Basmati is carefully selected and naturally aged for up to 12 months. This ageing process is what gives it that signature elongation when cooked — each grain can stretch up to 2x its dry length — along with a distinct nutty aroma that fills your entire kitchen.

How to Cook Perfect Basmati Rice
- Step 1: Rinse 1 cup rice 2-3 times in cold water until water runs clear. This removes excess starch.
- Step 2: Soak for 20-30 minutes (optional but recommended for extra length).
- Step 3: Boil 2 cups water. Add rice, ½ tsp salt, and optionally 1 tsp ghee.
- Step 4: Cover and cook on LOW heat for 12-15 minutes. Do not open the lid.
- Step 5: Turn off heat, let it rest 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork. Done.
- Electric stove tip: Use the lowest setting after water boils. Czech electric stoves retain heat, so rice can overcook quickly.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place in an airtight container. Once opened, seal tightly — basmati rice absorbs moisture and odours easily. In European climates, avoid storing near the stove or sink. Keeps well for 12+ months when sealed.
