MDH Garam Masala — The One Spice That Makes Everything Indian
If your Indian cooking abroad tastes “close but not quite right,” there’s a 90% chance you’re missing garam masala. It’s the single most important spice blend in Indian cuisine — the finishing touch that transforms a decent curry into an incredible one. And no brand does it better than MDH.
MDH Garam Masala is a finely ground blend of aromatic whole spices: black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, cumin, coriander, bay leaf, nutmeg, and more. A small pinch sprinkled at the end of cooking releases a burst of warmth and fragrance that’s impossible to get from individual spices. This is the exact same blend used in millions of Indian kitchens and restaurants worldwide.

- Adds warmth, depth, and authentic Indian aroma to any dish
- Small quantity goes a long way — one pack lasts months
- 100% vegetarian | No artificial colours or preservatives
How to Use
- The Golden Rule: Always add garam masala at the END of cooking, 1-2 minutes before turning off heat. Heat releases the aroma; overcooking kills it.
- Use in: Dal, Chole, Rajma, Aloo Gobi, Paneer dishes, Biryani, Pulao, Sabzi
- Amount: ¼ to ½ teaspoon per dish for 2-4 servings. Start small — you can always add more.
- Sprinkle on: Raita, dahi, or even scrambled eggs for instant Indian flavour
Ingredients
Coriander, Cumin, Black Pepper, Cardamom, Cinnamon (Cassia), Cloves, Nutmeg, Bay Leaf, Caraway, Dry Ginger, Mace.
Storage
Store in an airtight container away from heat, moisture, and sunlight. Ground spices lose potency quickly when exposed to air. In European kitchens, keep it in a sealed jar inside a cupboard — not on an open spice rack. Use within 6 months of opening for best flavour.
